The cylindrical roller thrust bearings consist of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a roller-and-cage assembly. They have higher carrying capacity than ball bearings of the same size. and are suitable for arrangements that have to support heavy axial loads in low speed. The bearings are easy to mount and demount. The ring that tight fits with the shaft is called shaft washer and the one having clearance with the shaft is called housing washer. The single direction cylindrical roller thrust bearing can accommodate axial loads in one direction and not be subjected to any radial load and thus locate a shaft axially in one direction.
Generally this bearing uses brass cages, but some also use nylon cage. The working temperature for nylon cage type should not be more than 120℃.
Because of the radial displacement between the shaft and housing, the limiting speed is low. When the shaft does not coincide with the bearing housing hole axes or the bearing binding face is not vertical with the axes, the bearings is likely to be damaged. In this situation，you can choose the thrust ball bearing with spherical housing washer to compensate for the angular misalignment between the shaft and bearing box.
